Dining on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit
we explore the Holy Spirit’s Fruit of Self-Control. We are tempted to take fleshy desires and give into them without any regard for the guardrails the Lord puts in place to keep us from trespassing, going where we shouldn’t. Tomorrow night (Wed), the Word of God will guide our restraint like a Shepherd Staff and Rod to offer us comfort and confidence as we face the desires of our bodies, minds, and spirits. May the Holy Spirit through His Word help you exercise self-control in showing that you’re Christ’s winner.
Living in His Self-Control,
Pastor Dan
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.” 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 ESV

Dining on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Explore the Holy Spirit’s Fruit of Gentleness. Often this trait is seen as “weak,” “docile,” “delicate,” and “soft.” But gentleness in the biblical sense has more of the idea of a “harnessed strength.” What exactly is that? And how can you live Christ’s harnessed strength in a world where it seems those with the most power have control over you? May the Holy Spirit through His Word help you to possess Christ’s powerful gentleness for your life.
In His Gentleness,
Pastor Dan
Jesus said: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

Dining on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Explore the Holy Spirit’s Fruit of Faithfulness. What exactly is faithfulness? How does the Lord show His faithfulness to you? And how can you show His faithfulness to others? Let the Holy Spirit help you discern these for your life today, so you can see God’s faithfulness working in you, every day.
In His Faithfulness,
Pastor Dan
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness,” Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Dining on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Explore the Holy Spirit’s Fruit of Goodness. God is the creator and originator of everything that is good. Goodness is the fundamental expression of His Nature. But how can goodness be misunderstood in a society where truth appears to be relative or subjective? Let the Holy Spirit fill you with His goodness so you can see God in all you do to live His will.
In His Goodness,
Pastor Dan
“Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.” Mark 10:17-18 ESV

Please join us for our first Midweek Lenten service as we continue “Dining on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit.”
This week we explore the Holy Spirit’s Fruit of Kindness. People confuse being nice with being kind. Being nice centers on how people see you. True kindness’s concern centers on the needs of the other person. Being kind involves courage and risk. Real kindness can only come from Jesus as we live the faith the Holy Spirit gives us. This week may God bless you to fill you more with His kindness to continuing changing the world to speak and show the ultimate act of kindness Jesus demonstrated from the cross.
Receive a piece of “Fruit” in the form of a magnet. If you didn’t already, pick up a colorful tree which is an 8 ½ by 14 piece of paper in which you can add your pieces of fruit. It can enhance your refrigerator to be a positive witness for family and friends.
In His Kindness,
Pastor Dan
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you,” Ephesians 4:32 ESV
