Paul Britton Obituary
Paul R Britton, age 85 of Brodhead, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI. He was born June 30, 1939 to Clifford and Charlotte (Orr) Britton in Rockford, IL.  Paul graduated from West High School in Rockford, IL, class of 1957. Paul married Jan Tippelt on July 23 over 30 years ago. Paul rented his first plot of land alongside his father at the age of 15 and farmed for over 70 years.  
Paul knew at a young age he wanted to farm and as a second-generation farmer he inspired the third and fourth generations of Britton farmers to carry on that legacy. He loved farming and continued to work the land and harvest the crops. He was fulfilled taking care of his acres, never retiring from what he loved. In his later years, he spent time rehabbing and restoring farms and farmhouses seeing the potential in many properties that others did not. Paul loved to travel with Jan in the winter months. They traveled to many wonderful places over the years from Europe to Argentina where Paul never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went.
Paul is survived by his wife Janice; his four children, Linda O’Hea, Nancy Britton, Bill (Stephanie) Britton, Heidi (Leo) Dion; grandchildren Matt Trotter, Erika (Pat Schramm) Nelson, Reed Britton, Nathaniel and Elliot Dion; four great grandchildren; his sister Mary Lou (John) Sterkson; his sister-in-law Darlene Britton and many friends and neighbors. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and his two stepsons and brother Richard “Dick” Britton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital for the care they gave Paul.
Paul’s Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 18, 2025 at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1531 Townline Avenue, Beloit with Rev. Daniel Eddy officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday in the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Streaming service will be found at Funeral Memorial Service for Paul Britton 1/18/25 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Messiah Lutheran in Paul’s memory. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.​
